What is Hepatitis?
> Etymologically from ancient Greek hepar or hepato, meaning 'liver,' and suffix -itis,    denoting 'inflammation'.
> Hepatitis is a term which is used to indicate the inflammation of the liver, which can    be caused by viruses, medications, or toxic agents.

It is a swelling of the liver that makes it stop working well.
>
Hepatitis implies injury to liver characterized by presence of inflammatory cells in the    liver tissue.

Hepatitis is usually characterized as viral hepatitis or non-viral hepatitis. Viral    hepatitis can be considered "acute" (a condition that comes on rapidly with severe    symptoms and a short course) or "chronic" (a condition that comes on slowly, may or    may not have symptoms with has a long course).
Types of hepatitis:-
Hepatitis is caused by different types of viruses. These viruses each cause a different type of infection with different symptoms and duration of illness. On the basis of virus hepatitis has seven types:-

1. Hepatitis A
2. Hepatitis B
3. Hepatitis C
4. Hepatitis B with D
5. Hepatitis E
6. Hepatitis F virus (existence unknown)
7.

Hepatitis G, or GBV-C
