This
server, called CGGD (Candida glabrata Genome Database), contains a
database dedicated to the analysis of the genome of the human fungal
pathogen, Candida glabrata.
Its purpose is to collate and integrate various aspects of the genomic
information from C. glabrata, which is currently responsible for the
vast majority of life-threatening fungal infections in immuno-compromized
individuals. CGGD provides an almost complete dataset of DNA and protein
sequences derived from C. glabrata strain CBS138, linked to the relevant
annotations and functional assignments. It allows one to easily browse
through these data and retrieve information, using various criteria
(gene names, location, keywords, etc.).
Sequence data
for C. glabrata were obtained from the Candida glabrata reference
sequence (RefSeq) genome is provided by the NCBI. It is a copy of
the genome sequence submitted to GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ by the Genolevures
Consortium.
CGGD is supplemented
with information from C. glabrata entries present in the EMBL/GenBank/DDBJ
databanks, as well as observations either published in international
journals or communicated directly to us by individual researchers.
We also used comparative analysis approach to annotate the uncharacterized
gene sequences of the C.glabrata.
