The
Candida Glabrata Genome Database (CGGD) project collects information and
maintains a database of the molecular biology of the fungi Candida glabrata.
Its goal is to collect, consolidate, and integrate data generated from
ongoing Candida glabrata genetic and genomic research efforts and make
these data widely available to the scientific community. The genome sequence
is 12Mbps long and having 13 chromosomes with a mitochondrial chromosome,
and around ORFs are present which codes for almost _____no. of genes.
|
|
Goals of CGGD are:
To generate and maintain biological annotations of the sequence.
To provide information at the genomic level.
Protein coding regions in the genome and its functionality.
Comparisons with the other yeast like Saccharomyces cerevisiae and C.albicans.
The Work
of Candida glabrata is carried out at our bioinformatics lab which is
well equipped with the software and tools needed for the project to be
carried out at its best.
The activities and specialties of the researchers who worked in this project
are-
Mr. Dhiraj Sharma, MSc Bioinformatics
Mr. Rajnikant Namdao, MSc Microbiology
Mr. Avtar Singh, MSc Bioinformatics
Mr. Parvinderjit Singh, MSc Bioinformatics
Mr. Sunny Mankotia, MSc Bioinformatics
